Department Goals
Students will:
- Identify the basic teachings of Catholicism and the application of those teachings to daily life.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Scripture by becoming aware of its origins and traditional interpretations.
- Apply a formal method of decision-making to moral problems, social justice issues, and life choices.
- Display a personal prayer style and contribute to and participate in liturgies, prayer services, and retreats.
- Show an appreciation of the major events and personalities of Church History and the Sacraments as they appeared chronologically in Church life.
- Articulate a strong sense of self that promotes respect for others to build a healthy relationship with God and others.
- Compare/contrast the roles of economic systems in world society, particularly in the United States.
- Demonstrate a commitment to an active apostolate through the Christian Service program and other charitable activities.
