Shadowing Program
Shadowing FAQ
What is shadowing at Trinity Catholic High School?
Shadowing is the opportunity for seventh and eighth grade students to spend the day at Trinity and experience firsthand what it’s like to be a member of the Trinity family. Students that shadow are paired with a Trinity student for the day to attend classes, go to lunch and get a true feel for student life at Trinity.
When should I schedule a shadow visit?
Ideally eighth grade students will schedule their shadowing dates in the fall between the beginning of September and the end of November, while seventh grade students will schedule their shadowing visit sometime in the months of January-May. Each student is asked to shadow only once either in the spring of their seventh grade year or the fall of their eighth grade year. Students are encouraged to schedule a shadowing visit on a day when their elementary school is NOT in session if at all possible. If this is not feasible shadowing students need to print out a copy of the Trinity Shadowing Program Permission Form (below) and have the permission form signed by their elementary school Principal. The permission form may then be brought to Trinity the day of the shadowing visit.
How many students can schedule on a single day?
The Advancement Team at Trinity reserves the right to decide on the number of students who shadow at Trinity on a particular day; however, normally no more than 10 students will be scheduled to shadow on a single day.
How far in advance should I schedule a shadowing visit?
Please allow the Trinity Advancement Team three school days to schedule a visit.
Is shadowing a full day or a half day?
The Trinity Advancement Team recommends that students shadow for the entire day to fully experience life at Trinity, however half days can be arranged at the request of a family.
How do I schedule a shadowing visit?
Those interested in shadowing should call Dan Grumich in the Trinity Advancement Office at 314-741-1333, ext: 223.
What is a shadowing day like?
Students shadowing should arrive at Trinity by 7:50 a.m. and report to the Advancement Office (Room 103). There the students will be paired with their Trinity host for the day. The school day ends at 2:30 p.m. and the shadowing students may be picked up in the Advancement Office where they will return after the dismissal bell. Lunch is provided.
What is the dress code for shadowing?
Students shadowing at Trinity are asked to dress nicely (NO JEANS). While the shadowing students are not required to wear their current school uniform they are asked to dress appropriately in keeping with the Trinity dress code.
Can I shadow with a Trinity student that I know?
If a student knows a current Trinity student they would like to shadow, parents are asked to make that request known when they schedule the shadowing visit. If shadowing students do not know any current Trinity students, the shadowing student will be paired with a Trinity student based on interests in academics, extra-curricular activities, etc.
